The Rheads were a well established family in Staffordshire when George Woolliscroft Senior was born in 1832. He was to begin a line of prolific and successful artists that would run through three generations, working mainly within the pottery design industry, but also in art and literature.
There are existing brief biographies of the key individual members of the Rhead family online and in print, therefore the purpose of these pages is simply to provide an outline of where they worked and when – if you’d like more detailed information, I’ve added relevant links elsewhere on the site for further reading.
The family tree below should help provide a representation of names and their dates.
